Ah fair point, but I still imagine it can be irritating to hear 'I don't care, you pick' I know my mum gets annoyed with it sometimes.

NAYRT, but -- yeah, I know a lot of people get annoyed by the "I don't care, you pick" thing. I'm guilty of it myself, but honestly, usually I actually don't care. I'm one of the least picky eaters I know and I don't have any dietary restrictions, so it seems fair to let the people who have more of a stake in the outcome pick first.

As someone who's annoyed by the original, what you and nightscale do doesn't bother me at all! If you're handing over responsibility of decisionmaking to someone else, and really don't care and are fine with going with whatever they decide, that's fine.

It's when people supposedly hand over the responsibility then whine about the decision and make you try again over and over that it gets infuriating. If they were going to be picky then they should be the ones deciding and filtering out what they don't want, not forcing other people to guess at what they feel like doing, you know? If I go "okay, let's do this" and they're just like "sure, okay" then no problem at all.
