On a similar note, people who ask you something ... not because they want to hear your answer or care about what you have to say but because they want to tell you about the topic they asked about and just use the question as an excuse to bring it up.

I think these are both me. :(

In my defence, I have major social anxiety and both of those traits are part of me over compensating like mad. Afterwards I usually spend the rest of my day beating myself up at how shit I was at talking to people. :(

If you're worried, remember the golden rule - ask more than you answer. If you find yourself steering the topic to yourself a lot, let them talk for a while. No-one necessarily necessarily minds a talkative person, just a person who always talk about themselves.
