Same with bulldogs. I cringe whenever I see a French bulldog in media because they're trendy right now. But they can't breathe well or even lick themselves..

Oh, if it was done historically it MUST be okay. I guess I just think breeding dogs for looks instead of health is abusive. My bad.

Yeah, but bull terriers are generally healthy animals with a diverse genetic background (exception: pure white pedigree bull terriers, which have an enhanced risk of deafness). They may look a bit odd if you're not used to them, but it's not a French bulldog situation - it doesn't affect their breathing, they're a healthy, stable breed, and if you're talking Staffordshire bull terriers, have a lovely temperament and are particularly good with children.
