It kinda is though. If you don't actually do anything to support lesbian representation, that's the definition of lip service. And it's fine not care much about lesbian representation, but don't pretend you do.

For some odd reason, it seems to be great for gay rights if it's F/F, but meaningless if it's M/M

Wow, what? Are you really saying there's nothing other than writing fic or drawing fanart or squeeing over an F/F ship that people can do to support lesbian representation? Actively shipping them in fandom, even if you don't like women sexually, is the only way?

I guess those people who love M/M slash are great fighters for gay rights.
