The fact that you are equating destiel, sterek, hankcon, Cherik, etc... to Clint/coulson and Arthur/Eames and aren’t in those fandoms proves you should shut your goddamn mouth. Destiel is not canon but Dean and Cas have had a minimum of 8+ seasons dedicated to their friendship. Sterek was hardcore queerbaited by the creators who gave shippers fuel on purpose, Connor and Hank’s whole plot line in DBH is ABOUT their relationship and how it plays out. The X-men reboot and the comics are about the tragic destruction of their friendship and what a tragedy it was. I don’t even ship half this shit but to call those crackships of the Clint/Coulson and Arthur/Eames variety where those are two characters who barely fucking interact? Get real. You’re just bitter.

Also clearly you have never been in fucking anime fandom if you think het crackships don’t happen and overtake fandoms. The token girl is shipped with everyone and everything. I love Naruto but Sakura is paired with anyone no matter how little sense it makes. We even had that nonsensical Jack/Elsa ship from that crack cross over between Frozen and Rise of The Guardians or whatever.

I’m sick of people shitting on fans for not shipping canon gay or lesbian ships when writerly would much rather put their energy into developing their straight white leads and the fandom gets pissed when SURPRISE that’s what is most shipped. We’re using tools the writers give us. You want better representation hit back at the writers in charge who won’t deficate a fraction of their skills to relationships between nonstraight men.

Sorry, you actually have a good point but you used the word "queerbait" so everyone's going to dismiss you out of hand
