Re: Have you ever felt represented by a fictional character?

When Todd essentially came out as ace on Bojack Horseman, I had a wibbly moment where I teared up, because suddenly the awful, confusing discomfort of his scenes with Emily made complete sense, and I realized why they'd been so upsetting for me to watch. Because they were so relatable.

But I don't relate to Todd overall. I don't even think we're the same type of asexual. I feel represented to a degree, but only to a degree. And that's perfectly fine.

Honestly, I feel represented to a limited degree all the time. There'll just be a moment where a character says or does something and I'll think, yeah, that really captures the truth about being X/Y/Z. But I don't think I've ever felt represented by a character in their entirety.
