Kyoto Animation Arson Attack

33 dead and 36 injured after a domestic terror attack on the Kyoto Animation studio. Suspect is in his 40s and alive and has no relationship to the studio. The motive is unclear. The names of the victims have not been released yet, out of respect for their families and friends.

For those not aware, they're the studio behind lots of popular anime, including The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Free, and Maid Dragon. Kyoto Animation is also know for its great working conditions in contrast to the rest of the industry.

I read somewhere that the culprit accused KyoAni of ‘plagiarism’. This is horrifying.

I read that too, that during the attack, the man screamed "You stole from me!"

The version I heard was that he entered a contest and wasn't selected but they used some of his material anyway.
