My boss has been verbally abusive (swearing, yelling) and tomorrow I'm going to put in my two week notice (I've only been here for 5 months but that's QUITE enough). I'm nervous because I don't know if the abuse will get worse, but I'm also looking forward to not getting up at 5:30am and driving an hour to work anymore.

You have to tell us what you think of it! I've seen some mixed reviews but those seem to hinge on it not being the cartoon version. I'm still tentatively excited!

We'll see. My feeling is that I love the Lion King music so much I'll probably enjoy it even though it probably won't be as good as the cartoon. I have several versions of the cartoon soundtrack (extended versions plus a couple different languages) and then the Broadway musical in a few different languages as well. I just really love the music.

I've already gotten the music for this one to listen to when the headache goes away.

I'm looking forward to Tall Ships this weekend!!!!! Every three years the Tall Ships festival/regatta is in the Great Lakes and this is our year, I can't fucking wait to tour the Santa Maria and the Picton Castle and then take a day-long sail on the Pride of Baltimore. My inner pirate is vibrating with excitement.

I ordered some plants to ship the week after my birthday earlier this week, because I was at SDCC and wouldn’t have time to plant them. It’ll also help keep my brain out of it’s usual combined “another year older and you’ve done jack shit” and post con blues, because yay, new plants!

What plants have you ordered, and are you in summer or winter?

It’s high summer where I am, but I usually just repot mail order plants in slightly bigger pots and leave them in light shade for a week or so, then wait until late fall/whenever the rain kicks in to plant them in the ground. It doesn’t freeze here, so lots of perennials grow best from fall to spring and stop in summer. Most native stuff goes dormant by August, if not sooner, and comes back with winter rain.

They look lovely - pretty, old-fashioned flowers. And it sounds as if you've got a nice temperate climate, which must make for a flourishing garden!

I'm having a bunch of plants put in right now that I bought by accident over the last few months. It's the deeps of winter here, but that's the time to plant so they can get their roots down before the big dry.

My summer class ends in 4 weeks. So glad I'll be done with my econ requirements.

I have a temp job starting next month I'm really excited for. I'm recently graduated and basically this is a dream job (aside from being only temporary). It also means I'm moving next week. Exciting and scary.

On a smaller scale, I'm looking forward to the next session of my RP group (I'm the GM), because we're ending an adventure and starting a new one, which means there will be some super-interesting plot developments and also two NPCs that I kiiiiinda (really) ship are probably going to meet as well. I've been dying to talk about the plot with the players but obviously I can't until it happens in game.
