That did not make any sense and reminded me why I dislike most MCU movies. That and the fact that Captain Marvel was a two hour trailer for that Avengers film. How they used Celebrity Skin during the credits was amazing, though.

IIRC after their initial meeting for the first time in years where she thinks Carol is dead, the movie quickly cuts to a scene where they're sitting around and she goes, "That's the craziest shit I've ever heard" or something like that. It's a bit weird because if you thought someone was dead and they just walk into your yard years later, you'd freak the fuck out.

ah, yeah i forgot about that. i just thought from the OP saying "how the movie was filmed" that there was some other reason that a scene was cut or smth.

It's sort of funny to me that this is definitely a real secret that would get you yelled at, but for reasons that are entirely secondary to OP's actual point

Are you referring to the fact that OP called their relationship a "friendship," implying they're not the completely canon lesbian couple the entire fandom believes they are?

They are canon lesbians, but Marvel is too much of a coward to be explicit about it (you could argue that they're using DOMA/DADT as the reason why they're so low key and hiding behind the "gals being pals" thing)

This is a good point actually and not something I really noticed the first time. I still love their relationship but yeah, we could have gotten a much better reunion now that I think about it.

I still love the rest of what we got of them in the movie though, and I hope we get to see at least some Maria in CM2.

It felt really jarring that she questioned Carol, teared up a little and joked for like two sentences, and she just accepted that this is absolutely the person she thought was dead for SEVEN YEARS and totally safe to be around. Even if it was my beloved whatever or my parents or anyone, I think if it was seven years of thinking them dead and they came back with super powers, I would question if they were the real person a lot more. I know Carol immediately started protecting them, and there's not much time to question everything, but it's like they totally skipped at least one more conversation. Even if it's just to hug each other and cry some more. Just, don't start chilling on a couch immediately, dammit.
