I'm ace and I love to ship, but not in a "These two are hot and I want to see them bang and make babies" way. More like "These two will never be canon but I think they would have an interesting relationship, how could I make it work in canon? What would need to happen or change for them to get together?" Like a game or thought experiment instead of just porn.

I don't know what your ace buddy got out of shipping, but it's definitely not impossible to be asexual and enjoy it. I think there's this idea that because you aren't attracted to people, you can't be into stories about people being attracted to other people, but to me, that just makes me more interested in it. I'm getting to observe a weird thing that happens to other people and has never happened to me, which is interesting even if it's not relatable, if that makes sense?

Also the Fire Emblem games are not breeding simulators if that makes you feel better lmao. You'd probably like them if you like other tactical RPGs.
