Except he doesn't, though? He advises them as supplements to actual vet attention, not as substitutions. And things like essential oils CAN help to calm anxious pets if that's the only thing that's wrong with them. From the episodes I've seen he's a big advocate of taking the cat to the vet for a professional opinion if behavior modification alone isn't working.

This. The few episodes I've seen have him being very sensible about vet care and making sure that there are no underlying medical reasons the cat is acting out. I believe there was at least one or two that I saw where that cat genuinely needed psychiatric meds and he advocated and remarked on the difference the care made in the cat's personality/mood.

Exactly. He's a little too new agey for my taste. I think that stuff is nonsense. But he never promotes it over real medicine. He's always for medicine first and then that stuff if medicine doesn't work.
