Have you considered asking your friend to stop spamming you with messages about a game series you're not interested in? That seems to be the real issue here. Maybe even bring up the fact that she's so hung up on the marriage and children mechanic as something that's sapping any potential interest you could have had in the games.

That being said, it's unfortunate your friend has managed to leave you with such a strange impression of a game that's always been first and foremost about strategy gameplay and fantasy geopolitics. If you're at all interested in the turn-based strategy RPG concept but can't get over your current hangups with Fire Emblem, you could check out TearRing Saga or Vestaria Saga. Those were made by FE's original director after he left Nintendo and are considered spiritual successors to the early games (only one of which had a gameplay mechanic similar to the one your friend spams you about).

I just muted her after a while because she kept spamming in general. Like, 30 tweets and your, that kind of thing. And criticism doesn't go over well with her. She also kept whining about getting "tricked" into romances in the Dragon Age games. It was possible in the first game (kinda) but she complained about this in the two following games as well, where you actively have to press a glowing heart button for flirty interactions and it didn't work out too well when I jokingly called her out on it.
Things have gotten a hit distant between us for some time now and I can't say I miss anything.

Thanks for the recs!
