Lot of rumors of him being a dickhead, ambitious, glory-hunter, etc. More so than usual. In particular, I remember reading he showed up to a WGA meeting to argue against increasing the pay scale for WGA writers including his own employees, or something like that, which is just super shitty.

That explains the dislike for him in the industry, at least. Still doesn't quite explain the hate for him among the general populace.
