Yesssss!

The show had its moments but I wish the overall tone was more like the credits. Or they made a show just based on the credits. I'd watch that.

Did you ever read that article (I can't remember which website posted it, but I think it was reasonably high-brow) where the writer basically made the argument that the True Blood credits felt like the advertised a better (more complex, ambitious, politically relevant) show than True Blood actually was? Like, they weren't bashing True Blood at all, but just pointing out how complex and layered and rich with implication the credits feel.

I remember reading it back in the day (some time around when S2 aired I think?) and it's always stuck with me.

So anyway, yeah, I strongly agree with you about this. :)

I did not, but I agree with it so much!

My enthusiasm for the show based on the books was pretty meh, but when those titles started I was fucking pumped! I thought they'd done something really cool. Turns out it's mostly like the books with some horror movie shock and gore moments and background political plot that never gets more interesting (IMO anyway).

I'm all for people getting their cute supernatural romances, but I wanted whatever story they were thinking about when they put those credits together.

Commit!
Lol.

AGREED on all counts.
