(Anonymous) 2019-07-26 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)You do you, but it seems really weird to turn any negative opinion whatsoever into some kind of taboo.
I wonder if people do do feel the need to insert themselves just to make that sort of "I personally think it's gross but you do you" statements have ever been on the other side of this sort of thing, and had something they like sniffed at?
Yeah? All the time? Things that are for me aren't for everyone else. That's fine. That's life.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-27 12:14 am (UTC)(link)What I meant was, to the extent that anon is scrupulously trying to avoid giving a negative opinion unless expressly invited to do so, they themselves are treating negative opinions as though they're taboo. And I think it's clear - from the rest of their post - that they do think expressing negative opinions unprompted is generally bad, and should be avoided.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-27 12:05 am (UTC)(link)If it's a general discussion that's one thing, but as someone mentioned upthread, it's just as annoying to comment on a 'like' thread that you dislike something, as it is to comment on a 'dislike' thread that people are wrong and here's why.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-27 12:29 am (UTC)(link)(It's why I don't make "Ew Gross but Kinktomato" statements in other people's Happy Places,, because I know how shitty I feel when people come in and make those type of comments in mine.)
