104. I range from being a grammar nazi who automatically reads your comments as if you had an IQ of less than 40 when they include phrases like "u r so cool!" to adapting internet slang into my daily vocabulary. If you're doing it for funsies or for irony, it's grand. If that's honest the way you actually converse with people on the internet, the rule rather than the exception, grow the slag up. But just between friends/sibs--it's just for the lols.

107. Heh, I have that pic saved. I wish there was a story with it, because that Hyde and that Jekyll are kinda hot and cool. But self-cest? Nah, not so much. Just...does not compute. I read a drabble of it with Blitzwing, and...it made the opposite of sense. Even moreso than being about Blitzwing should've.

121. Doctor Who isn't everyone's thing, and Dr. Horrible apparently annoys some people, but that's a horrible reason to deprive yourself of Life on Mars. At 16 episodes, its' not a huge chunk of your time, and it's one of the most brilliant shows I've ever seen, with the best ending since M*A*S*H.
I'm not an anime fan so much anymore, but there's no reason you can't be well-rounded. Heck, no offense, but I think less of people who watch only anime and avoid live action shows. Granted, even not being a fan, I still think it's a bit stuck up to not even try anime because it's just a cartoon, and to stick to only live action.

123. You had to say it? You had to say it? Ah well, I hope you're right. After the recent episode, though, it seems a bit...cooler. But I'm hoping it gets back to it's old self soon.

128. Aww. I dunno, I always shipped 'em, never thought of them as twins, but I like that angle a lot, actually (sans the shipping). Screw it; call each other what you want. There's folks who ship everything; don't let them take away a clannish in-joke you have with your sib.

130. WORD! "It's Avatar, but they're all in high school!" 0.o...whyyyy? (Okay, fine, I had a Slayers High fic once, but it turned out to be an actual plot point that still tied into the canon of the show eventually...)

139. I think maybe it's just too easy? Heck, I was practically shipping 'em by the end of it all.

156. Wait, was this...recent? Okay, actually...I am a little sad now. I do miss my old Toonami days. Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, man. And Moltar! But is that Tom? Yeesh, ch-ch-changes, man.

Totally random, but if you liked the endings to MASH and Life On Mars, you might like the ending to "Blake's 7" too. >_> Providing you haven't already seen it and are into old school-Firefly-like-but-more-dark shows. >_>

/random

I don't know that I've even heard of it (sure I have, but no idea about it), but thanks for the rec. I'm more of a wacky-happy-show type of person, but a bit of dark sci-fi's good too. Cheers!

107. Heh, I have that pic saved.

If you don't mind me asking, who drew it and where can one find the artist?
It really is a lovely picture. ^___^
Thanks!

There you go!

121: Oh I love live-action shows! I definitely don't limit myself to anime. She has just been arguing anime is for children, and with the way she talks about her shows you'd think they were OMGAMAZING. I was afraid they'd put the majority of anime to shame. :( I know it's ridiculous. That's why it's a secret haha. But it's silly to miss out on something I could love. Hmm... and I think I'll definitely find out more about Life on Mars. :)

[identity profile] xanykaos.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the honest truth is...they will. Put the majority of anime to shame, that is. But then, they put the majority of Live Action television to shame as well. Y'know what they say--90% of everything is crap. There's some solid, good anime out there that is emphatically not for kids--not because it's "adult and mature" as those words mean on television, but because it tells good, meaningful stories with character and drama. Sounds like your friend's got more of a problem than you, then. (If I were you, next time she comes off with the Anime=kiddie stuff, I'd bring up the fact that Doctor Who started as a kid's show, and remained that for years, and that the reason it's getting a comeback is all the kiddies who watched it grew up and wrote more stuff. It's a fab show, and I love it, but we really can't be casting stones on a whole mediun when it started out as Tin Foil Technology).

Don't "find out" too much about Life on Mars--the big plot points are just so beautifully well-done that spoilers seem a crying shame. 'Nother reason to watch it--some of the best music the 70's produced for a soundtrack.
