And, to add on to the other person who replied, Jack Harkness (fandom bicycle/pansexual hottie), who is immortal now, is purported to eventually... evolve into the Face of Boe. It's sort of implied canon, but a lot of fans don't want pretty boy Jack to be ugly like that, so they deny it.

Well, "implied canon" in that we get introduced to the head as The Face Of Boe, and then an episode or three later Harkness tells Rose and the Doctor that he used to go by the name "the face of Boe". And granted, it's Doctor Who, and the writers could decide that the Face is called that for some reason entirely unrelated to Captain Jack, but.
