I can't watch Outlander because I'm Scottish and know enough about our history to know it’s American fantasist twaddle.

I had the exact same problem re: Scottish history - and I'm English!

Also I could never figure out where Frank and Claire got the petrol coupons to drive that monster of a car in the first ep. Petrol rationing didn't end until 1953, I think. They might have managed a motor-cycle and sidecar, a la Wallace and Gromit, at best.

I made it to the end of the first ep, cringing all the way, and gave up.

SA I even tried to read the book, ages ago, and had a fit of the giggles when I got to the Highland apricot harvest. In the middle of the Little Ice Age. lol
