I just wish they'd had a better understanding of Clark/Superman. Wonder Woman and Aquaman were great. But they crippled themselves by starting out their universe with Man of Steel because it was such a complete understanding of the hero it was about.

Honestly, Superman is my favorite superhero. But there are so few adaptions that get him right. It is frustrating.

I mean, I'm not a stan, but I thought it was pretty obvious that Jason Momoa was just being Jason Momoa and having a great time in costume, vs... y'know... acting. He didn't really come across as Arthur Curry (or maybe it was just that the writers were like "f** Arthur's character, Jason is way cooler" which is true BUT STILL)

((And somehow Amber Heard was like the only woman on the planet who is attracted to men but didn't want to bang Jason, it seems. They had ZERO chemistry. Like, negative levels of chemistry. That kiss was so ugh))

The only one to get him kinda right was the Richard Donner film. Too bad the production was plagued by production issues and Marlon Brando's inflated ego (I wonder what drugs he was on to say that Kryptonians are "bagels").

The cartoon series that shared the same universe as Batman TAS got him right, as well as Justice League the cartoon series.

Frankly I think the more important change at least for me personally would have just been not having David Goyer, David Ayer, or Zack Snyder involved in any fashion

that would definitely be a start!

I think it could have been done well either way. Unfortunately it wasn't.

+1

They did completely screw up both of those characters too, so it didn't help by starting off with them in any aspect. Normally they'd get at least a few points from fans of the characters, not so much this time.

Yeah, the approach was awful. Felt like they were rushing to catch up with MCU instead of organically building it up properly. Also feel like they should have had a younger Batman (not one on the brink of retirement at least).

It's a shame really. I like DC characters more but Marvel completely outclasses them in the movie department. DC is gonna have to restart and try again... with patience this time.
