Look, Twister is legit awesome and I won't hear anything else. I'd watch 1000+ hours of Jo and her Ragtag Group of Mercenaries Stormchasers hunting down and spazzing out over tornadoes. Meg can come too. Or just be the home base.

I just wish that Bill was less of a dick in general. He's okay, and I like the rapport he has bouncing off Jo, but honestly he could be 100% lifted from the movie and I would still love it.

I haven't watched it more than once, but I enjoyed it, too, OP.

I live near the bridge they filmed the cow scene on. You will know what bridge it is because everyone in Oklahoma will tell you when you drive over it.

Not OP That is SO COOL :D

(Anonymous) 2019-07-30 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
SAME SAME SAME SAME SAME, OP.

It's so good.

I live in Tornado Alley (Iowa, to be exact) and I'm pretty sure it's an unwritten rule that anyone who lives in this part of the country has to see that movie at least once :p.

Seriously, though, yeah, I like that movie, too, OP. It's cheesy fun :D. And I like anything about tornadoes in general-terrifying as they are, they still fascinate me.

Plus, I remember liking "Mad About You" as a kid and watching it with my mom a lot, so it was fun for me to see Helen Hunt in a big movie, too.

OMG! Just today, for no apparent reason, I was thinking about Carey Elwes' team of EVIL TORNADO CHASERS and their fleet of big, black SUVs and their corporate sponsorship *gasp* and how completely ridiculous that was, and yet this movie is so fun. I love it too.

I just read a stormchaser fanfic AU for Dean/Cas. It was very entertaining!

Crowley was the evil guy, and he had a tourist stormchasing bus, haha.

I love that movie too! Definitely top 10. Whenever it's on its an instant watch. One of my favourite parts is when they go into the barn for shelter and see all those scythes swinging in the breeze and are like, HELL NO. But seriously that movie made me want to be a tornado chaser.

I fucking love this movie, no shame.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-30 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, it's a good movie!

(Anonymous) 2019-07-31 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
count me in as another Twister lover! I had large parts of that movie basically committed to memory back in the 90s, and I still find it extremely quotable. I always say "if you have to pee you should do it now, there's not many places to stop once we get on the road" before any road trip.

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman though. I loved Dusty, he was my favorite. No, second favorite, Rabbit is my favorite.

My family loves to quote the "We've got cows!" bit. Either that or, "Debris?!"

This movie is super fun, OP. I was crazy happy when someone wrote a version of it for my OTP.

Twister is one of my favourite films. It's awesome.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-31 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Twinsies! It's one of my "if I find it when channel surfing, I put it on no matter how far along it is" movies. It sparked my love for Bad Science Movies.

My meteorology professor made a drinking game out of it and we were forbidden from trying it or else we'd end up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. There's that many problems with it, scientifically speaking, BUT IT'S STILL THE PERFECT MOVIE IN MY HEART

Twister is awesome, goddamn. Maybe I'll rewatch it this weekend.

I love Twister! A great movie to watch casually on cable. My favorite scene is when they all demand food from the aunt and then the next scene shows these absolutely DELICIOUSLY BUTTERY steaks and eggs. I don't even eat meat and that scene makes me want a steak!

(Anonymous) 2019-07-31 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Right? The food looked so good.

I also think of Meg's home anytime I hear a wind chime tinkling somewhere.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-31 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm terrified of tornadoes and have a distinct hatred for any type of 'storm hunters', so I really don't agree. Though I do have an unfortunate run of favourite movies, so I totally get you.

Fun story is that around where I live, when Twister was playing at a drive in a literal Twister broke through the screen. Talk about good effects am I right;;

LOVE LOVE LOVE Twister.

It's one of those just absolute *go to* movies for me. I bought the soundtrack when it came out, way back in the day and used to listen to it obsessively. :)

So yeah, anon, I'm right there with you. :)

It was on TV the other day on SyFy, and I absolutely watched it and quoted it. It's also unironically in my top 10 favorite movies. Personally, I think it's a combination of Jo, the "ragtag team of Stormchasers", and the soundtrack that really sell it. The soundtrack is awesome!

I get that a lot when I mention that Titanic is one of my favorite movies.

That being said, I also love Twister!
