So... is anyone watching Hudson & Rex and if yes, how is it?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-30 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
What's this now?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-30 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
A cop and dog show. IDK anything about it, I just know it exists because I use a subtitle site and a new ep shows up every week.

Oh~ I mentioned this when the comment first came around. There's literally an episode on tonight so I'll watch it and give my opinion. What I've heard so far is that's it's a pretty good show. I'll let you know!

trial and error: ep. 7 season. 1

It's very cute, tbh. Reminds me of 'The Listener', though I might be biased. As in typical Canadian broadcasting, where shit happens at the lightest, but most significant degree. A gunner comes in to shoot up the place, but the focus is on the characters, and the lab/chemicals put at risk. He doesn't murder anybody right away, and the main character get's a quick text by one of the hostages before the gunman takes their phones away.
The MC almost seems to be doing a Dean (Supernatual) impression at first glance, though I might be wrong. (it's really a mix between Dean and James Pendrick, from Murdoch Mysteries) The dog is so goddamn cute though, and he hasn't really done anything yet~ I love him!

It does seem like your typical Cop + Dog show, for the most part. Though it put's Rex's life just as important as anyone else's. They train Rex for the mission, rather than having him automatically know what to do. It's pretty cool, tbh. They train his muscle memory so he crawls through the right 'vents', goes as far to show Rex going the wrong way at first during training, and then changing the setup of the course to ensure his accuracy.
It goes to, and from, the gunman. Evolving the character who sent the initial text through conversation.
They send Rex in through the vents, and really, I am so in love, I can't even-;;
Love the dog, but it's a little lacklustre on the crime drama side of things, kinda. (though the episode itself could be to blame, since I don't know anything about the characters at this point;;) There is plenty of side drama, as in the ex-wife of the gunman has been located, and the cooling tube holding some of the airborne toxins has been damaged.

The midcourse is actually pretty damn good. The reasoning for the gunner and all of that. I really do like it all in all. They leave the file the gunman has been looking for up in airs as well, at least until the end. Rex saves anyone who might be contaminated by the viruses as well.
I'll probably keep watching it, tbh. The storyline was actually pretty good, and I enjoyed the character as much as I saw them... So I guess I do recommend it!/

It's a cute show as long as you can suspend your disbelief with a crane. The acting is spotty, the plots are often ridiculous, Hudson says/does things no cop would actually be able to say/do, and Rex doesn't act like a police dog but rather like Lassie. I don't know if it was supposed to be a kid's show but that's how it watches.

I loved Turner & Hooch!

Boss, is that you? This is exactly something my boss would say. He loves dogs more than anything.

I'm not a dog person (I prefer cats, but don't dislike dogs), but I absolutely agree with this secret.

I approve of this secret. And would only add that other animals work for me too. Anything would be improved by adding any animal. Animals make things better.

Whenever there is a dog I spend the movie low key concerned the dog won’t make it.
