109 I actually agree; I mean, Dean/Jensen is funny and interesting, but the way the character Sam was played out was what interested me and what I kept watching for. If Jared was in a movie I'd see it because he can make me feel for his character easily.

BTW, not a troll. You may think I'm lying, but I'm not. I'm just a kid who got tired of being harrased anytime they said they disliked yaoi/yuri/porn/etc. The replies and assumptions that I must be a troll because I feel that way only help probe my point.

Ah, I was just checking, some do say they hate all sex except missionary het, which is a legit preference, but when they start generalizing it as 'evil' that's a trait that rather ticks me off.

You're fine, and I understand the frustration of trying to see if a story has other interesting points than just the sex. Even if it's about a pairing and clearly labeled so, my favorites of all time are the ones that don't include sex at all between the two characters. Much like struggling to find good gen fic, finding good pairing fic like THAT with an addition of mature themes (ie no PG/immature writing/boring storyline) -is- a pain in the ass. So I can understand your just wanting to "scream" it out in a secret.

I don't think you're a troll because you hate the context, not the people personally who like it.

If that's really the case, please don't go around saying you don't like yaoi/yuri/porn. Just say you don't like porn, NC-17, or explicit pairing fics. Because saying "yaoi/yuri" at all is going to make people think you just don't like anything with homosexual pairings in it. Despite the fact that those terms are supposed to refer to more explicit fiction and art, most people use them as a blanket term for all such pairings regardless of rating.

And seriously, don't even bother to use the word "pure". Nothing's pure.

The reason people think you're a troll is that you're basically saying you hate sex, which is, frankly, nigh impossible to believe. Sex is a basic, natural, normal instinct that most people can deal with on at least some level by the time they're teenagers. In fact, if you're young enough to be at the age where sex is still icky, you're too young to be on the internet unsupervised, imo.

Believe it or not, there's nothing wrong with sex. And, "pure"? Please... the idea that sex is some evil, impure, corrupting force is a stupid, outdated notion designed to make people--especially women--feel bad about their bodies.

And "keep fandoms pure" I don't care what fandoms you mean, a lot of them--even for kids--have plenty of "impure" sexual things in them IN CANON. Why should fans be held to higher standards than canon?

And lastly: Don't like, don't read. No one's forcing you to read any of the stuff you dislike.

Yeah, you're right, sorry. I had initially read the comment as "if you aren't interested in sex you must be a little kid," but it's really more "if you think sex is so disgusting you can't deal with it, you must be a little kid." My mistake.

Why was anyone asking you about your preferences? I mean it's no ones business what you like or don't like -- just as it's none of yours what other people like and don't like.

However, there's really no reason for you to be going on about what you don't like, that's just asking for others to defend their tastes. Concentrate on the things you do like and you will find plenty of people who like it, too.

Then maybe you should've specified that you don't like het, because as it is now it comes across as somewhat anti-gay. Porn is porn is porn, no matter the bits between the legs of those involved.

The reason I said you were a troll was because the way you phrased your secret implied that only het or gen lower-rated fandom contributions are 'pure,' you implied that rare pairings (inevitably, 'rule 34' pairings are rare) are 'impure,' and you used the word 'fandom,' instead of 'fanfiction.' You don't have to like that stuff, you really don't--I'm certainly not trying to oppress anyone who doesn't like what you listed--but anytime keywords like 'pure' are used as the opposite of slash, it's going to attract negative attention.

Honestly, the only thing you needed to add was that you wished people would stick to canon and you'd have hit pretty much every 'they're ruining my precious, pure fandommmm!!!' typical whine. Besides rec communities and newsletters with link roundups, I don't understand why people can't just live and let live. I know, I know, it's a rant disguised as a secret, but just like you probably can't resist being frustrated when people say 'people who don't like explicit ~~gay~~ sex in fandom are stupid,' I can't resist reacting to stuff like this.

Bottom line: if you'd left out 'rule 34,' added het porn as you say you dislike it as well, and maybe changed from 'fandom' to 'fanfiction,' I wouldn't have bothered to say anything. Highlighting slash and rare pairings and calling them impure is just a troll behavior, imo.
