She is strong and well written, but the show does not pass the Bechdel test.

And thus the Bechdel test has been proved as worthless and unnecessary. See you in fall semester, Mike.

The Bechdel test is useful primarily for evaluating shows with a large cast of central characters, not shows with two central characters (like SPN) or one (like GITS). No show with only one female character will ever pass it; but there may be other things about those shows that keep you watching. For instance, I watch SPN because I like the brothers and I'm perfectly fine that this show is just about the brothers and not a large ensemble cast with female secondary leads.

What the Bechdel test tells you is whether the female characters in an ensemble show are there to be characters or there to be accessories/plot coupons.

One of the things that's frustrating is how many shows that ought to be able to pass it easily fail so hard. How often do any of the many female characters in Heroes get together to talk about something that has nothing to do with the males? Why was the first thing Amita Ramanujan wanted to talk about with Don Eppes' latest girlfriend "how much alike Don and Charlie are"? When are Cameron and Thirteen and Cuddy going to talk about something that's not "how much of a jerk House is"?
