"Literally" does not mean the same as "figuratively". I am generally very chill about the mutability of language and how the meaning of words changes over time, but we don't have another word that means the same as 'literally'! Leave it alone! Let me communicate 'This actually seriously no bullshit happened, no I'm not being metaphorical or exaggerating for humorous effect or making it up' in a concise manner!
