I think that makes it easier to put back in theaters.

Logistically, not really... theaters aren't going to market and promote a public domain movie anyone can watch, there's no money in it for them. No incentive

Maybe "easier" in the sense that it's cheaper to get a copy and show it without paying anyone any royalties, but that's not the only concern theaters have. They want to make money off the movies they show. That's hard to do when people can just...
