Re: Politcs related question

I know I don't really understand politics but when I see people complaining about Trump spending all his time golfing and slacking off, the thought that comes to mind is, "Trump's not going to do anything good, and he's not going to undo anything bad, so isn't it better if he does nothing at all?" Shouldn't we be glad for every minute he wastes not doing even more to hurt people?

It's still broadly evidence for the thesis that he's a shitty president, even if it's arguably for the better under the actual circumstances.

As a not-American person, my opinion has less importance but.

Y'all are paying him a fortune to golf and get security to golf while people are starving to death.

While there is a way to get rid of him that no one has the nerve to do.

I have the same frustrations with my own government but. Yeah I don't agree with this take.

I get your logic, but I don't think you can realistically expect people not to take that as further sign that he's an incompetent president who'll fiddle while Rome burns, so to speak. That also assumes that nothing bad is being done in his absence... which isn't true. Government doesn't grind to a halt just because the President is golfing. He's left plenty of other evil assholes in charge who are 1) assholes and 2) arguably more efficient assholes.

Because he's doing it on taxpayers' dime, tbh. While it's great he's not directly hurting anyone, all his golf trips add up.

Well, he's golfing, but his terrible policies are still in place and his cabinet is still doing it's thing. It's true, he's more passively doing harmful things than actively. Would I rather he golf than be racist on Twitter or spout nonsense at a press conference or make bad policies? Yeah. But he and/or his administration are probably thinking about or planning those things while he's golfing.

The hypocrisy of him complaining about Obama taking a reasonable amount of vacation when he takes off way more time and barely works at all is worth criticizing. Doesn't mean we want him to do anything. Just means we are rightly criticizing his hypocrisy.
