I'm honestly just curious, so I hope this doesn't come off as snarky at all, but what about it makes you hate it? I agreed with you a few years ago, because so much of what I was hearing was so angry and glorified so much violence and misogyny, but then (with some gentle nudging from my friends) I dug underneath that surface layer of junk and found some really good, really introspective and creative stuff. More like beat poetry.

Of course, if it's the spoken-word style itself that bothers you, that's something else altogether, haha.
