Went for a run, showered and dressed and got groceries and Starbucks. The grocery store was practically deserted at 12:30 in the afternoon, oddly enough (there's usually a lunch crowd). Got my hair cut. Smoked a bowl and watched the end of a ball game.

Phoned my very elderly mum who is in hospital, having fractured her lag in a fall yesterday. They'll be operating on her about now. I need to pack and arrange accommodation close to the hospital.

Made chocolate cake, made plans on the phone with a friend to come visit, watched Boardwalk Empire, Frasier and GBBO, got groceries, listened to music.

Put in two weeks notice at my job. :D

I'm one of the anons who has been complaining about her job for years on this community, and I'm just so, so happy. I got an offer at an amazing company that I've been keeping an eye on for awhile, and it'll be a fantastic next step for my career. It's so surreal that I'm almost done with this job that has been the cause of so much stress and depression, and I'm going to a place that's so perfect for me.

picked two of my mum's dogs from groomers then went to grandparents.

My granddad has a condition worse than parkinsons so I sit with him and he just...goes more each week.

It is horrid.

This week we watched animal documentaries though and he seemed more alert. :)

Two 8:30 hearings this morning, and hour apart in location. That was fun. Stood for 45 minutes on an injured foot just so I could be the first attorney at the first hearing so I could make the second one at a reasonable time. Stayed off my foot the rest of the day, but I'm still in a lot of pain.

Started reading "Godchild". I can't say I'm particularly sold yet, though.

Made a "confetti rice salad" for a family dinner. First time I've liked the taste of dill!

Realized that my close friend of thirty years is pulling away from me and using his depression from his mother's death to do it.

Rode my bike to work like usual. When I got home I realized I'd left my keys at work so I had to ride all the way back. Which wasn't that horrible but it made me feel stupid.

Felt nauseous all morning, sat around and scrolled on my phone while I waited for my digestive system to calm down. Finally got moving.

Watered the garden. Started cutting down a dead fruit tree. Trimmed palm trees in the chicken run back so I could rig poultry netting over the top of the run. Realized that I was never gonna be able to get the 50’ x 50’ netting taut enough over the run all by myself. Bundled useless netting into an empty flower pot. Headed for Home Depot, missed the bus, went to the thrift store and bought a couple tops for work.

Caught the bus. Hopefully bought the right size staples for my old rusty but usable staple gun. Wrestled two 4’ x 50’ rolls of chicken wire through self check— “would you like a cart?”

“I’m taking the bus.” Endured justified stares from Home Depot employees. Wrestled chicken wire rolls only slightly shorter than me to bus stop. Looked pathetically at bus driver. Sighed in relief when he waved me on. Wrestled chicken wire home, put chickens away. Now I have to do a grocery run, then I need a shower and sleep.

Worked on my sampler. The letters took forever, but I'm almost done with it. I haven't worked on anything creative/just for fun in a long time, so I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out.
