Oh, I mean he spent the month or so before Lelouch claimed the throne thinking hard about Zero Requiem. They already had it planned out before hand and Schneizel just hurried it up a bit.

OHHH yeah that makes sense. I've only watched the episodes once so I only remember bits of it. I don't even remember how he died~ :/

Back to your original point though, if Lulu is alive it would definitely cheapen everything he did. He may as well be dead after he did what he set out to do and now as no place in the world. I'm sure I read or heard a little while ago that they had to change much of the plot for some reason or other, I wonder how that version of events turned out.

Yeah, the timeslot change completely screwed up the Taniguchi's(?) plans for the series. I think someone said that the ending was what they had originally intended though (sort of) with Suzaku taking up the Zero mask and all. But I think they were going to give Suzaku some sort of Geass. D:
