Not in the US. Here it is only illegal in some states.

It wasn't until my cat found me that I realized that declawing wasn't an automatic thing you did to your pets the same way as spaying/neutering.

I know people who did it to their cats, not knowing what it really meant. Now I always explain it to people. I hope someday it is illegal everywhere.

Absolutely! If not illegal, I really do hope they raise awareness about how harmful it is. I can't say how glad I was when I heard it was banned in most of Europe, North America really needs to catch up!
