To be fair, if you get bit by a shark, usually you aren’t blamed for it (Why were you in the ocean!? Were you dressed like a seal!?) in quite the same way you are likely to be if you get SVU’d.

Also while the stats on murder are comforting, that doesn’t really address the other fear. (Although, OP, it’s more likely he’ll just be a jerk or awkward and you’ll have a story for your friends than it is that he’ll hurt you.)

That said, it’s probably wayyy past time to watch something else for a bit.... google some puppies while you’re at it (works for me)
