So weird to me that someone would side-eye everyone who enjoys historical fiction just because some historical fiction contains sexual assault-- like, are they not aware that there IS historical fiction out there that DOESN'T do that?

I mean, I'm not here to make a value judgment about liking it, either, I just think that's wild. I've read plenty of historical fiction without sexual assault and enjoyed it but I guess now I'm problematic because don't I know anything that happens in the past is Bad Forever?
