I'm replaying Final Fantasy IX, and I was hesitant about doing so at first because I remembered an article that assessed how well the game holds up over time, and the article said the worst thing that doesn't hold up is Zidane treating Dagger like an object and constantly trying to get in her pants. "Gosh, a lot sure went over my head when I played it back when!" I thought when I read that.

Now that I'm replaying it, I'm so angry. At whoever wrote the article. What game were they playing?! In no stretch of the imagination can Zidane's treatment of Dagger be described the way the article did it. I'm not just angry, I'm confused. Was the article written by one of those weird new kids who thinks finding someone attractive is fetishization? I read that article a couple years ago, but I hope it's buried and forgotten so it doesn't put people off from playing or replaying the game.
