I only watched the first season of the new version, but I disagree. Although not really due to the host's involvement. I just found that with the cast being older and then being suddenly forced to do a lot of physical acting in the new Sideways Scene game, they started phoning it in. They were repeating a lot of the same gags over and over with no variation (how many times can we pretend to be the Exorcist demon on the ceiling?). Plus the shoe-horned in guest celebs who awkwardly joined for one game and got no time to feel comfortable, before being whisked off the set again. It's hard to establish rapport between the older cast and guest talent in 5 minutes.

I get that it's a reboot of an older show and sponsors support the show, but these overdone elements and attempts to connect to 'modern audiences' hindered it.

If these aspects have been improved upon since and Aisha's gotten more comfortable with the role, I'd be interested in starting to watch again.
