Image showing the Youtuber Venus Angelic and her husband. Secret text: I find it extremely annoying when Youtubers involve their partners into their videos and then get pissed when people ask about them. If a lot of your videos have your spouse in it and then suddenly not, of course people will ask! Everyone has a right for privacy, but then... maybe don’t make a channel revolving around your private life? Or... don’t lash out. (Obviously, it’s not a socially acceptable opinion.)

Who are those uncanny valley people so I can avoid them forever.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I was just coming here to say something about the uncanny valley effect...

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a reasonable opinion to me. Nothing says the person has to answer the questions, but being mad that people ask at all, when it's you that chose to broadcast what you did, is kinda dumb.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I can sort of understand it, because like... mentioning something about your personal life doesn't justify the insane rush of incredibly invasive questions that I imagine accompanies stuff like that

IDK how much space the Internet really provides for reasonable non-invasive questions on things like that, the Internet is really all-or-nothing with that stuff

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd agree with you if it's just a mention that they were married, or the spouse were caught briefly in view as you swung the camera around to talk about something else, but having someone be featured in a video with you as pictured is a bit more than that.

Not saying invasive questions are nice, because they're not, but it's also not like this was a YouTuber mentioning they're married to a spouse you never see or hear from

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally get your point, but I think it's also about the volume of questions and the way they're asked? It's understandable people would be curious but I also imagine people go way beyond understandable curiosity

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's why it kind of depends, imo. It's the ratio of how much featured vs. how many questions

Christ, I forgot about Venus Angelic's existence, she's still around? She tries so hard to look Asian, it's downright creepy and fetishistic.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Especially since she doesn't end up looking Asian but she does end up looking like those insanely creepy "realistic and lifelike" sexdolls. Yikes.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Interestingly she’s just put out a video (and then deleted it) claiming her husband was abusing her and was living off her YouTube income without working. The marriage was obviously rushed due to the situation with her mother and the need for a VISA so not surprised things were off about it.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I really feel sorry for her, with a mother like hers it's no wonder she's such a mess. Never stood a chance.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Bloody hell what is this nightmare fuel abomination?!

(Anonymous) 2019-08-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I could have lived my entire life not knowing who this fucking creepy ass photoshopped to look like a plastic sex doll person is...no thanks, OP, I already find nothing of value on youtube and now you've given me more reasons to avoid it.

i find it extremely annoying when yelp reviewers stick a picture of their baby in a restaurant review. I want to know about the damn restaurant, not your baby, thanks.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Does it really happen a lot? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Entitled parents are gonna be obnoxious in every place they touch.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Entitled"? That word does not mean what you think it means, edgy childfree_hardcore anon.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's Venus Angelic? And she's married? I hope she's in an okay spot. I used to hear a lot about her back in the day and her mom sounded freaking bananas.

This is some A+ Uncanny Valley shit right here

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm all for respecting privacy but by putting yourself on display you got to at least expect people are gonna be awful as they usually are over the internet.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-17 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
That has got to be the ugliest woman I've ever seen in my life.
