I'm kind of fed up of previous Thor canon being completely ignored/erased and Sif being glossed over is definitely part of that. Yes I know the actress was busy but that doesn't excuse the overall vibe of just getting rid of anything that happened before 2017.

I think a Sif and Valkyrie team up could be pretty good in the right hands.

On Twitter Jaimie Alexander nominated Sif for Valkyrie's queen. She seems to be fond of the role so I hope Taika Waititi can somehow include her in the next film.
