It'll come out eventually, OP. Don't lose hope. I wanted a second season before a movie, but I'm curious to see what it's going to be like. I never dipped my toes in the fandom though, so I can't comment on that.

Except it’s supposed to come out in 2019, officially. They’ve already announced that. And contrary to the anon above’s opinion, animation studios like to do big rollouts leading up to hit-ticket properties’ movies, especially when they’ve already announced the release date, even roughly.

There’s only 3.5 more months of 2019 left. Something is up. Whispers day it’s to do with issues the production team met using Olympics in the movie, but I don’t know that I really believe that? Because YOI has used Olympics (including the rings and all) in a major promotional campaign (with a major sports brand), so they have experience jumping through the IOC’s hoops for permission and would certainly have hashed it out.

But something definitely seems to have happened. We’ll just have to wait and see what :/
