No, sorry, each to their own. After all, I think Hedwig and the Angry Inch is much better than RHPS. And Shock Treatment is only meh to me.

While I agree that Hedwig is the better of the two, I tend to avoid comparing them as they don't have much in common. It's like saying that Pirates of Penzance is a better play than Death of a Salesman.

But, like you said. To each their own.

I respectfully disagree. There are many similarities between Hedwig and RHPS. There are similar concepts about sexuality and self-discovery and performance, especially of the campy flavor-- they are approached and expressed differently and to different purposes in both shows.

In drama, it's like comparing Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night to Miller's Death of a Salesman. The comparison makes total sense in both cases.

(And that's without even taking the shadow-cast fandom culture of RHPS and Hedwig, which has a LOT of overlap.)
