Yeah, it's unfortunate backlash. We're scared of being objectified and treated as lesser beings by men, and the stereotypical representation of that kind of thing is women as a sexual tool. So it's like... women start thinking that if you appreciate a woman in a sexual display, it's just too close to that objectifying. But really, it isn't. It's not the image itself that's sexist, it's the thought of that image as nothing but a man's tool. Which is, y'know, something the man (or woman) his/herself is thinking. It's just as easy to look at something like that figurine, in context of the character and pose, and say "wow, she's beautiful, strong, and comfortable with herself." I think it's more in the interest of equality to allow those sorts of positive expressions of female sexuality than to hide that sexuality to prevent thought patterns that will exist regardless of the images.

This is really common in fandom, with such a high concentration of women who consider themselves feminist to at least a small extent. It's pointless to push away the possibility of male oppression to the point that women are oppressing themselves, right? and sorry for the TL;DR
