Favorites for Silly Reasons

Just wanna share that I have a collection of first editions (it started as necessary research material for my thesis and just kind of ... spiraled out of control), and there's one I like best not because of the author or the content or how rare it is, but just because it smells amazing. One I love because its cover is OMG SO PURPLE.

So... what books do you love best, but for reasons unrelated to the book-as-such? The cover is cute? Your aunt left you a fun note in it? Share the silly love!

I have a book called Facts and Fallacies because one my teachers gave it to me. It has all kinds of handwritten facts on the inside cover.

I hunted down the exact edition of the first book I can recall reading: Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, with watercolor illustrations by W J Aylward (1943 edition).

I always judge books by their covers, so probably all of them. If I find a book I know I'll like, I'll always look for alternate covers to find the prettiest ones. I have a very old fashioned etiquette book that is completely ridiculous. There's a whole section on how to properly deal with servants in the household, and how you should never address another family's 'help'. I love it. It's so bad.

I have copies of A Little Princess and The Secret Garden with illustrations by Graham Rust. The books are slightly abridged, but I don’t care because I loved those specific illustrations as a child and I feel so happy and relaxed when I sit down to read them.
