Not every reader is equally sensitive to the repercussions of not using condoms. Have you ever had sex (let alone anal sex) wo a condom? Anal sex wo a condom is nasty in my experience. And when I'm reading a penetrative scene and I don't see a hint they at least reach for one at one point, it breaks the fantasy for me. I remember vividly when AIDS was an epidemic and friends were dropping like flies. It's not about giving a sex-ed lesson, for Pete's sake. It's so you don't squick the reader out of the fantasy. Good writers think of all their readers, not just the percentage who don't notice.

Hi! I've had anal sex without condoms, and in fact I prefer it. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of lube I use, I always get friction pull off the latex and I get microtears in my butthole, which. Sucks? LMAO

I just use an enema an hour or so before and I'm good to go!

Of course, I recognize that not everyone shares my experience, but that's definitely mine.

I'm talking about pooping and farting out cold jizz afterward with my natural body process, and no matter how clean I am beforehand, I don't find it pleasant. But yeah, YMMV.

I use lubed condoms and I'm happy.

To each their own! I don't think there's any one way of doing it, so no one should really get down anyone's throat about it.

Dude, read the secret again. The OP literally says they're fine with people not sharing their preference for no condom. It's the specific attitude of "your characters MUST use a condom or you're promoting a dangerous attitude towards sex" that the secret/secret maker is taking issue with.

And I agree wholeheartedly. If you prefer fics where the characters use a condom, that's perfectly fine. I prefer fics where they don't. That's also fine. What I find annoying is when the author treats the condom usage like a lesson for the readers about practicing safe sex. If they don't treat it like a lesson/chance to preach, then it's ndb.

I have never ever read a story where the writer treated the condom usage like a safe sex lecture. But I have read countless stories of ridiculously unsafe sex practices. Countless. So if that's what the secret is about, then they must be in a really bizarre fandom. Who's the Boss? Saved By the Bell??

That's lucky for you. I have read a fair few where it's like, "You know you're clean and I know I'm clean, but we're absolutely not going to forgo a condom until we get freshly tested because that would be irresponsible."

I've also seen a fair few tumblr style "friendly reminders" on "how to write smut, that include the "advice" that you shouldn't be writing sex scenes without a condom because it's irresponsible.
