I guess I should specify I don't know much about this show. So I can't say much about this actress in particular. All I'm saying is that people should be loyal to what they commit to, no matter who they are. Producer, actor, studio, it doesn't matter which. It's not a conspiracy theory I'm trying to start here, I guess I'm just not that cynical.

It has nothing to do with being cynical, you just have no understanding of how the industry works. An actor shouldn't have to sign their life away and be forced to continue a role they don't enjoy for an unknown amount of seasons because "loyalty". It's a job. If their contract is up and they think they can get a better role with better pay elsewhere there's absolutely nothing wrong with them deciding to leave. If the producers want them to stay badly enough, they'll offer them a better contract. If not, they'll recast. If the story can continue without the character, they'll be written off. This is a normal fact of the industry and is normally made aware of ahead of time.

Dude, I'm not saying any of that. Calm down. I get that people leave for different reasons, and there are ways around dealing with an actors disappearance. Not everyone is Mandy Patinkin and leaves without a word, some people do have respect for what they do.
I'm not sure what you're arguing about, we aren't exactly disagreeing here. This isn't a discussion about my 'lack' of understanding for the industry, or your lack of understanding for loyalty and common decency, it's just an opinion.

I'm not the only anon replying to you in the thread, but what I was responding to was the judgement you were making that people were being shitty for leaving a show. Like above, you state "some people have respect for what they do" and what I was attempting to explain was.... actors have contracts. Actors typically can't afford to break contracts, so when they leave, it's because their contract is up. That means they have fulfilled their obligation. Just because the show isn't done with that character yet doesn't mean it's shitty for an actor to say, oh hey, my contract is up, peace out. They still fulfilled their promise and it doesn't mean they don't have respect for what they do. It just baffles me that you judge that so harshly, that's all.

Please use DA, or NAYRT then if that is the case. I do get that contracts can end, and actors have reasons for leaving. What I said was that I am more likely to judge someone when they leave very early in a shows creation, or when they have some obligation left to their character. If they have legitimate reasons, even if it's just a change of scene then I'll understand.
You might find that unnecessarily harsh, but it's how I feel. I'm not the type to go yelling about it either, so it doesn't make much of a difference what I think. I'm not even calling anyone out aside from Mandy, if only because he is known for doing these things. If you don't agree then thats fine with me.

It's not bad form even if it is early on in the show. People are disagreeing with you because your opinion is bad.
