SA - Also, I find it weird when people act like killing Nat was some kind of slight to the character, because, "Hawkeye is boring, they should've killed him instead." Like, yeah, that's why they killed Nat not Hawkeye (or at least a significant part of it). Killing Hawkeye was the cheap and easy route. He's not that important, to the story or to most viewers. I think most people expected them to kill Hawkeye in that scene. Whereas Nat was "too important to kill." Hence, she had to be the one to go or it would've felt predictable and cheap.

that's surprisingly naive as a comment because natasha's death had zero impact once the scene ended (wasn't even included in the funeral?), so clearly the movie wasn't banking on people giving that big of a shit.
"too predictable" is the reason and we all know by now that writers who think not being predictable is the pinnacle of writing need to be fucking purged.

This comment is jumping to some oddly irrational conclusions. I honestly have no idea how you're interpreting things the way you are. It just doesn't make a lot of sense, like???
