They could have paired Seven with literally any other regular character and they would have had more chemistry and made more sense than this pairing. Seven and Neelix made more sense than Seven and Chakotay.

Neelix and Seven had just as much screen time and meaningful moments together as she did with Chakotay. I low-key shipped her and Harry. I really liked that they became friends in the later seasons.
