It's a bit late for this but anyway.

I'm getting kind of annoyed at some of my cat-owning friends. Is it so much to ask/that hard to take a lint brush/one of those sticky tape rolls and clean your couch from at least some of the cat hair when you invite people over? I like cats but having the hair stick to everything and float around the room as soon as you sit down is not my idea of fun. It's great that you, the owner, don't mind it. But be a bit considerate of your guests?

I'm also getting more and more critical of free roaming cats and the advantages cat owners have over dog owners (even though I'm definitely more of a cat person and not at all a dog person) but hell if I ever tell any of my cat-owner friends that. That's a can of worms I really don't want to open.

As a cat owner, I vaccuum any hair clinging surface (and then some) when I have company. I am also thoroughly against outdoor cats (more for the danger to them than the mess they cause on other peoples' properties, but still the latter as well).
