When I see comments on a fic about how hot it is for 7 year old Newt Scamander to be preyed on by his 16 year old brother, I think it's purely a result of CSA and surely not a sign that people find it hot that a 7 year old boy is getting preyed on by his brother.

The airt was implying that CSA survivors couldn't possibly responsible for the extreme underage requests because of the number of them, so I was just pointing out that CSA is chronically under-reported and that there could definitely be way more survivors in the SPN fandom than anyone actually knows. Your anecdote, shockingly, doesn't contradict that.

The content of the fics in question is a reasonable counterargument to the suggestion that CSA survivors are primarily responsible for the requests and / or the fics, which is a suggestion that you are defending.

I have no idea what the content of the fics in question are. I don't seek out that kind of content and nope out of fics that don't warn for it.

What I was trying to defend (and still stand by) is the notion that people have other reasons to engage with problematic content besides it being something they get off on. I don't pretend to know every reason someone may have for writing something I think gross and wouldn't want to read, and I'm not going to automatically assume that someone's a bad person just because they engage with content I would never in a million years.

Could I get a better judge of someone's intent from engaging with their content? Maybe, but I'm not exactly in a hurry to find out more about the content of these fics, so I think I'll stay in the realm of theorizing about it.

Yeah I do think it's kind of suspicious that this morally upstanding citizen seems to have an obsession with reading those extreme underage kid fucking fics. Makes you wonder.

It says right in the very secret that it's easy to come across this stuff for simply checking a kink meme without actively seeking it out. Ditto for browsing a ship for AO3 and seeing what the warnings are in tags. Hell, I was just browsing through a multiple drabbles fic looking for the ones the author wrote about Newt/Percival Graves and came across the creepy drabble about extremely underage Newt and his brother in that same assortment. The author only just warned about it in the author's notes.

Also, you do realize there is more than one person here, right?
