It's basically just Watchmen, Brightburn, and the Ultimates verse of Avengers, but even edgier. I see people bring up the commentary of rampant corporatism in America as the thing that differentiates it from the former 3, but said commentary is so fucking shallow that it's barely worth noting.

Homelander is an effective villain, but otherwise I couldn't bring myself to care about a single character in this show.
