It's not nice of me, but I just thought yup, that's Texas all over. As far as I'm concerned, they've long since outstripped Florida as the shittiest state.


Oh yeah, and all that bullshit about how all you need to stop shooters is "a good man with a gun". If a shooter can successfully murder people in fucking Texas, well then...

I agree. And I live in Texas. Not all of it is bad. Bad sadly, it is run by the bad part.

unless the good man with a gun has advanced training for such situations, i can only imagine how many MORE people would be dead by accidental shooting in the crossfire.

Exactly. The "good man with a gun" is just some fantasy bullshit people tell themselves to feel better, and because they don't want gun control laws. It's just a bunch of scared people who think their guns are some sort of magical protection just by owning them. Nobody needs untrained idiots with guns, but people don't talk about that part.

The advanced training for such situations tends to be "don't add another gun to the mix, do what you can to de-escalate and/or evac people".
