My fandom as a whole is huge and very popular - maybe too popular, since I think its ubiquity kind of annoys people. But the part of the fandom that pertains to my ship is medium/small. My ship is controversial and probably the most hated ship in the fandom. There are a lot of antis.

I have a Legacy of Kain tattoo that gets interpreted as anything from a dragon to a butterfly to the Horde symbol from Warcraft. I've only met one person who actually recognised it and immediately bought them a drink.

Depends on which level of fandom. Lots of people love Lord of the Rings. Much fewer people like the Silmarillion. Even fewer people likes my ships. The LOTR movie fandom is still pretty big. The LOTR book fandom is semi-big. The fandom that likes the whole of Tolkien's works, though, is much smaller. I like it that way. I like my tiny fandom. My fandom is awesome.

Ehh, I'm not too sure actually. It's old, got revamped recently, and has like a dozen different sequels that may or may not take place in the same universe, some only sometimes. It was popular at the time though, and had a very popular fan made spinoff (?) as well. I'm confused just explaining this.

Relatively small but steadily growing because the animated version and the live action drama are getting more and more popular.
I'm not entirely happy about it because with growing popularity come the antis and the infighting. Especially grating are the antis who whine about the poor widdle minors in the fandom... when minors have no business being in that fandom in the first place because the canon is rated for adults.

Two of them (Star Wars and Trek) are reasonably mainstream these days. And even though my particularly SFF pics are less mainstream, few people blink an eye that I follow the industry.

I work for an art college so geeking out about game design or animation is part of the environment.

I'm interested. It could be really good, but it could also come across as inappropriately flippant and forgiving. Not of the boy, because I don't really believe kids that age should be held responsible for the horrible things they've been made to believe - but maybe too forgiving of some of the adult characters. But that would just be my apprehension, not necessarily my prediction. The tone of the movie feels like it's walking a bit of a tightrope to me - it would be very easy to get it wrong, but I hope they get it right.

I love talking about media I like, and I love praising media I like, but I rarely actually recommend things to people, because I'm too aware of how subjective taste is.

That said, if I were going to recommend just one show, it would probably be Battlestar Galactica.

And a totally bitchy one. I've been asked to make a totally reasonable accommodation for a disability and my only issue with it is that I hate the person I'm accommodating. Like, they are a Grade A fucking asshole that never apologizes for shit, twists your words around to make you the bad guy, plays the victim card every fucking chance they get, and is passive aggressive to an absolutely fucking disgusting degree.

So obviously I'm still going to accommodate their disability. Because I'm not a fucking asshole.

But I fucking resent having to do so for someone I absolutely loathe and this is the only place I can SAY I fucking resent it SO DAMN MUCH.
