I get this, OP. For me the word is "cum." I hate that word with the hatred of a thousand fiery suns. That word is my "moist," it makes my skin crawl. But I only hate it spelled that way, I don't mind it if it's spelled "come." It's a completely irrational thing.

Oh god, SAAAAME. For most of my life I had the good fortune of being in fandoms where pretty much everyone used "come" as both the verb and the noun in sexual situations. Just recently I got into a fandom where at least half the people writing in it use "cum" and I just hate it so damn much.

It doesn't help that I usually find fics that use the word "cum" kind of poorly written in general. I'm sure people will argue it's just my hatred of the word "cum" biasing me against these fics, but I honestly don't think it is. I just find there's often something different about how these fics are written. Like, the sensibilities are different or something. *shrugs*

Ugh, yes. I can tolerate "moist", but can't stand "cum". When it's used as a noun is bad enough, but when people are "cumming"... ueeerrrghhhh no.

Same.

Yes!

I hate that word, too (unless used correctly in the Latin sense - summa cum laude, then it is absolutely fine). It sets my teeth on edge, especially 'cumming'. That is not a word.

And I actually kind like 'moist', I associate it with baked goods and, generally, it's a good thing.

Oh man, I hate that word so much! Totally takes me out of the fic when I come across it.

FUCK YES, please stop using 'cum' and 'cumming' in sexy moments in a fic, because it throws me headlong into horrible 70's porn with guys with hairy asses and women with horrible fake blonde hair (and really horrible fake boobs).

ugh fucking signed. cum is for people who can't spell titling their pornhub videos, not fic.
